North America looks like a tale of two pandemics. Or is it a story of government spin? This chart tells some stories that are mostly true, and some others … Is this a big enough age difference to explain Haiti’s 12½ times better Covid survival? Christmas was bad, but daily deaths are heading back down. Fatalities reducing steadily after a horrible Christmas. Shocking January increase. February looking just as bad. No real decline in daily rates yet. February’s numbers were inflated by a large addition on the 11th. High daily rates show signs of dropping in February. Deadly Christmas & New Year, but recovering quickly. Good to see this rapid downward trend in February. UK & USA testing streets ahead of Canada & Panama. Mexico hardly bothers. UK got started first with vaccines. USA also moving quickly. Canada & Panama held up by supply problems. Then there’s Mexico.
